Isaias Garcia is a Canadian film composer. He is one of the rising young talents in the world of scoring for media. Having been raised in his parents’ homeland of Argentina, he was exposed from very early on to the music of tango masters Carlos Gardel and Astor Piazzola. Upon returning to Toronto in 2002, Isaias became the youngest member of the Celebrity Symphony Orchestra in Toronto, having also premiered his first orchestral work at the age of 17. Three other major orchestral works have also been premiered by the orchestra. Having won numerous awards and recognitions at the Toronto Student International Film Festival, Isaias has recently become the composer-in-residence of the Celebrity Symphony Orchestra in Toronto. Pursuing his B.F.A in Music at York University, where he is in constant collaboration with the Film Department, Isaias aims to expand film scoring in Toronto and Canada. Isaias Garcia’s main influences are John Williams and Hans Zimmer. He has been nominated for 2 major awards at the 2011 Hollywood Music in Media Awards.
